Norfolk has the most characterful homes in the region and, frequently, the smallest kitchens. A Ghent row house kitchen from 1915 was not designed for four courses and eight guests. It can absolutely deliver them, with the right plan.

Neighborhoods we know well

Ghent and West Ghent, Larchmont, Colonial Place, Freemason and the downtown high-rises. Each brings its own constraint, whether that is a galley kitchen, a walk-up, or a building that requires elevator and parking coordination before we can carry anything in.

Cooking in a small kitchen

We plan a Norfolk menu backwards from the stovetop. One course finished live, everything else prepped ahead. We bring induction burners when a range is limited, and we stage plating on the dining table or a side console instead of fighting for counter space.

None of this shows up on the plate. It just means the room stays calm.

Logistics we handle

Street parking, stairs, elevator reservations and load-in windows are all worked out before the date. In Freemason and Ghent especially, telling us about parking in advance is the difference between a smooth arrival and a chef carrying crates four blocks.

Older homes suit a slightly more classic table, and our Norfolk menus lean that way: a chilled opener, a braise or a coastal main, and a dessert made the day before. Elegant rather than architectural.
